This is really the first time she’s lost to a villain. Her confidence is shaken.

That’s lame. This comic could benefit from some actual drama.
Well, I might as well add my two cents worth. The first thing is that she’s a gymnast. Anyone who participates in athletics is likely to get a black eye or a bruise sometime. (Archery and rifle marksmanship might be exceptions.)
My understanding is that one city had so many cases where people thought that there might be abuse, they had some pediatricians and emergency room doctors write a manual on what types of injuries should be reported and which should be considered normal.
However, people involved in some sort type of vigilante activity (the classic would be Batman) had so many old injuries that they would only be considered normal for rodeo clowns, race car drivers, bull wrestlers, and people with similar occupations.
(Archery and rifle marksmanship might be exceptions.)
You’ve obviously never been smacked by a rifle scope. lol
Or gotten a firsthand lesson in why traditional archers tend to wear bracers. It’s not a black eye, but a bowstring can leave a wicked bruise on the inside of your forearm if your form is off by just a little bit.
Could I claim temporary amnesia and utter a strong Homer Simpson “Doh”? I was familiar with those cases, though not with personal experience, and I really have no excuse for not including those cases.

If it’s not the type of comic to have them thinking the parents hit her, not likely to be the type of comic where it’s a concussion.

Yeah, I have a folder of active webcomics and sadly also one with many which are updated so infrequently, or may have been abandoned, that I check them maybe once a quarter.

Last Patreon entry was September 2021, as a running series of villianous fan-service buttons, and the admin posted above in october 2021. Twitter accounts are sparse in detail, but at least demonstrate that the authors and artists are alive.
Small consolation when we are less than a month from the one year anniversary of the last page of the comic.
