Master Chin never said anything about discouraging Jackie. He said (in effect) she was like her mother. I think that probably means he sees the same fire in Jackie as in Janice.
I guess you shouldn’t go to a man with a history of encouraging teenagers to fight criminals for that
He looks almost sinister, looming in the shadows in panel 4… 🙂
