This made me giggle, and I had to remind myself that it is Not suitable for my upcoming Mutants and Masterminds game. Because my Player characters are in high school.
Yeah, give it a big lance that it can jab and charge with really quickly, and make getting inside it tough, but once you’re inside its reach, goes down like a jenga tower.
Though this did end up demonstrating that there is ONE thing the entire Internet can actually agree on: That remaking “Princess Bride” is a terrible idea.
Windmilling arms?
That means it has no martial arts programming outside of pugilism.
Otherwise it would have tucked, rolled and set itself up for a spring attack.
Windmilling the arms like that creates a gyroscopic effect that helps keep you upright. Lifeguards are taught to do it as part of a crash dive (jumping into shallow water from height, like off a bridge into a river) to ensure they impact feet first. With the strength demonstrated by the Rook, it could be an effective way to not fall down go boom.
Her posture in the last panel is the same as in the first panel.
The difference being the Rook went from coming to going.
Almost like she barely budged…he was too stupid to be a real threat.

Whoa look at that intense fight where she……….just sidesteps it. -_-
Looks like she hooked its foot as it went by, and gave it a push. ^_^
The “windmill arms to regain balance” program kicks in… but I think it is not very effective
sidestepping a rook seems like a good plan
Rook fall down, go boom!!!!
Need to work on those things’ stabilisers I think, Queenie.
Rooks are always vulnerable to a diagonal attack.
Janice keeps getting drawn thiccer with every page, pretty soon she’ll have to chande her name to Mrs. Melee or Melee MILF.

I’m guessing that the next one of these things will be the ‘Knight’ and will fix most of the Rook’s demonstrated issues with speed and agility.
A “Knight” would of course have the significant limitation that it can’t attack anyone who’s too close.

Or perhaps a Bishop, who can move quickly but struggles with anything straightforward? 😉
I thought that those were called ‘Politicians’?
No, politicians don’t move quickly.
Sure they can… it’s amazing how quickly they can change their position…
Have fun stormin’ the castle!
Think it’ll work?
It’ll take a miracle…
…one of the best movies ever made.
Sadly Hollywood wants to remake it because they are a pool of rotting fish carcasses.

Prediction time: The rook will fall down, but will rise again.
The flapping arms was a nice touch.
