“Firstly, no hero likes a sidekick who is a show-off. Secondly, well done and, thirdly, you teach me how to do that after we get out of here.”
FWIW, I think that they’re going to have to go through a Labyrinth-style maze with lots of death-traps. Queen Evil will later tell the (with a confused pout) that this was so that they wouldn’t get bored with this part of The Game.
I was actually assuming the less-experienced villain daughter tied up KM, and not being familiar with the many times MM has gotten out of rope, did so less thoroughly.
Handcuffs are super easy to escape from, if you have the right tools, and I’d expect a super hero to have the right tools hidden in her costume.
Rope on the other hand, depending on what sort of rope you use, what kind of knots you use, and how you wrap it, can be incredibly difficult to escape from, as you need to learn how to get out of every single (or at least the most common) kind of bond they might tie you with or have a cutting implement, and depending on what kind of rope they use and how they wrap you cutting yourself out while tied is difficult and dangerous at best, or virtually impossible at worst. And a sufficient cutting implement to saw through rope that thick is way more difficult to hide on your person than a basic hand cuff key or shim.
Source: I’m a magician, I hang with a couple escape artists and have learned the absolute bare minimum of practical skill in the art, and know a whole bunch of information that I have not put into practice.
Lasers – IR Lasers since they are more easily accessible as industrial equipment. A little creative optics modifications to extend range and retain lethality and you are good to go. Just have to remember to HEPA filter the air so there isn’t any telltale dust motes or bugs vaporizing in mid air.
After getting sick of players buying 10′ poles, my gamemaster brought one as a prop to a game. 10 feet btw is frikken HUGE. We stopped bugging him about them after that.
“Where are we M.(o).M.?
“Kid Melee?”
“Yes, MM?”

The year is 2020… We have handcuffs. She has giant AI controlled robots. And she’s still tying up her captives with rope?
Someone who wants their prisoner to escape… because it’s more fun that way.

Also. Soooooooooooooooooooooooooooo glad ya’ll are back! ^_^
How did Kid Melee slip out of those ropes….!?!?
She’s a gymnast. They’re flexible.
She slipped her hands under her legs and around in front which allowed her to get enough slack to slip her wrists out. Then she just untied her feet.
Don’t do it, the obvious door is a trap.
Sometimes the best strategy is to spring the obvious trap.
Don’t leave the rope behind! You will probably need it later on in the challenge. Just look at the Mythbusters on the Magyver Special.
Cue the “rope argument” between the MacManus brothers in “Boondock Saints”…
the rope and adventurers second best friend after the 10 ft pole
What is it that you are planning on not touching?
the inevitable pressure plate trap

ehh its just 3m, no worse than an average modern tentpole, as long as you can fold it, it shouldnt provide a major issue
