Not necessarily.
She maybe just felt it should be shorter back then. More appropriate to a skilled fighter who doesn’t want her hair getting in her way, or a bad guy’s grip.
Now she’s more experienced and knows how to handle both, so she wears it how she likes it.
It’s an interesting middle ground. Also, saying, “if you don’t want to take this risk, you can back out at any time” is not only treating her like an adult (giving respect), it also makes her daughter more likely to follow her. Funny, that.
Okay, Evil Lass, all I can say is this: When you’re waking up with the sunlight streaming in the same barred window it’s been streaming in the past thirty years? You chose this.
30 Years? Only if you totally mess up and no lawyer will go near you and you are so lame you can’t figure out how to break out within 30 minutes if not days.
We’re seeing Queen Evil’s mental image of Lord Kharava, which I believe is pumped up due to her feelings for him. I suspect that he is Evil Lass / Abby’s father.
Boy, Queen Evil sure does seem to know a lot about a situation nobody should have been around to see and she’s just happened to using use a similar color scheme, hmm…
Could my joke theory about him being Abby’s dad end up being true?

Jan had shorter hair sixteen years ago,so does that mean she’was a young adult or still in her teens back then!?
Not necessarily.

Though given it was 16 years, one can reasonably assume she was a lot younger.
16 years younger, even… 😉
Check out the cast page where you can find out Jan’s age!
…. Why is the C in mechanic in Mark’s cast post different?

Miss Melee should change her name to One-Punch Woman instead.
*groans*
Sure, you just complimented me on being lame.

Confirmation Bias.
Panel 4 not to scale.
…I hope.
I think it was. And he had her right where she wanted him. As seen in panel 5. ^_^
Not according to Jan’s recollection of those events. Plus, we’ve seen Kharava in the modern day and he isn’t nearly that big.
Google is no help – it keeps pointing me at some middle of nowhere village in India.
DOH – should have checked the cast page – I totally forgot who he was.

But is it the same Kharava? That’s something to think about…
It’s the same Kharava.
