I don’t think the people who love your work being happy to see it again is ‘cringe’. I can’t fathom how someone would be offended by the outpouring of support you’ve received. I see people gushing and celebrating and scrambling to find money for your Patreon, but all I see from you is a couple of negative comments, new pages with nothing to say underneath, and now this.
Since you think people coming by and appreciating your work is ‘cringe’, I’ll be helping you out by not reading it anymore.
I really was so happy to see that the comic was back.

When have we ever gone 3 years without an update?
We creators pride ourselves on our creations and enjoy reader feedback, but we feel bad when we can’t devote all our time to our projects and take it personally when we are reminded of it, even positively. It’s like when someone shows up late to a party and doesn’t want to cause a fuss, and everyone in the room looks over and celebrates their arrival. It’s cringe, for lack of a better way to put it.
The best response to an infrequent update is just commenting on the update itself, and moving on.
With that in mind: I love the cartoonish cutscene here. It really helps balance the serious moments in the comic.
When I was getting black eyes on the regular, foundation was my go-to to keep people from knowing, and my psyop against the persons punching me in the face when I would show up at school the next day showing no sign of their transgressions against me. I didn’t know it at the time but it was demoralizing to them to punch someone in the face and have nothing to show for it the next day.
