I think the big difference is that Jackie is now under her wing as a sidekick as Kid Melee, where as Mark is still just Mark. Given how the story starts with her basically being (mostly) retired, if she didn’t get back in the hero game fully and ended up with Jackie getting in the thick of it, she likely would have never had thought to tell either of them ever.
If she decided to keep it secret from her daughter, as the same rule still applies, even with her daughter in a mask, then no thought on her not telling her husband, as it can all fall under the “My family is safer if they don’t know my identity.”
However, she trusts her husband enough to fix her tech and marry him, then if she can tell her daughter she should for sure tell her husband, especially considering, theoretically he’ll be with her forever, the daughter will not.
Yeah, I mean she trusted him enough to date/marry/have sex with/have his child, but she doesn’t trust him with her secret identity? Her priorities seem a bit screwed up.
Agreed. Between this, the bike fixing, and… I think it was during the first all nighter? But yeah, not only does he know, it looks like he is enjoying the little game of ‘how will she try to keep the secret this time’. I have no doubt that when it does come out (and it will, it’s just a matter of when) that he will be super supportive of them both. (what would be really funny is if it’s like when Jan is unconcious or something, and he is with Jackie at the time and Jackie is all ‘I can explain’, and he plays dumb about it with a wink XD )
I think the scowl was a result of parental concern over what Jackie might be getting herself into this time, but notice how he lightened up as soon as Jan started making a lame excuse to rush out and follow her. Basically he doesn’t want his daughter getting into danger alone, but trusts she’ll be fine with the appropriate supervision (ie her mother who has more than established her own credentials for handling rough situations).
I agree that not telling her husband is a huge mistake. Bad enough when it was just her wearing the mask. But with training her daughter to do the same, she is essentially not letting him have any say in this. What if he objects to having his underage girl getting into fights with armed people and high tech criminals? And what happens the first time she gets seriously hurt?

“It’s so cute, the way she thinks that I don’t know what’s going on!”
It’s how they do
“Honey, there’s something I need to tell you.”
“That you’re both superheroes?”
“I, you knew?!”
“It wasn’t hard to figure out.”
The saddest part of all this, is that she wants to tell her daughter without ever having told her husband.
Should Jan wait until Jackie is eighteen and then tell her???
She should be thinking “Tell my husband” before she ever thinks “Tell my daughter”
Less a matter of age and more of a matter of her getting her priorities straight.

I think that Mark is starting to feel insulted that Jan and Jackie still think that they’re pulling the wool over his eyes!
Nah, I think his smile in the last panel says otherwise.

I was thinking of the scowl in panel 5

And he’ll spend the night thinking this is Official Super Hero business, never knowing that Jackie instigated this without permission.
I hope Jan isn’t to hard on Jackie. Though I suspect this could be the start of a divide being driven between them.
He knows!!! HE KNOWS!!! HE STILL KNOWS!!!
