And now we finally have definitive proof that he knows what’s going on. There’s always been the smirk, the knowing smile, but he’s never acknowledged it to the fourth wall like this.
And everybody in the audience jumps up and yells “I knew it!” And yes, it is an awesome aspect of Mark’s personality that he’s silently supportive of his wife and daughter, as well as confident that they can handle themselves.
As I said in the comments for another issue I really think Mark’s willing to wait until Jan tells him herself. On her own terms rather than his so that’s why he’s never done some big thing where he confronts her over it. I’m sure he worries about both of them but at the same time like ya’ll said he’s proud and he knows Jan is a pro at the superhero game so he has faith.
Really glad to be able to find an actual straight up fun superhero webcomic instead of one that’s a grimdark deconstruction or parody or whatever.
Here’s a possibility:
He’s a gadgeteer genius and has built a Vulture-like super-suit of his own. When Jan and Jackie get in trouble, he tries to help. Just the surprise of his arrival is enough to turn the tide which is good because he didn’t have any ideas beyond ‘drop on freak theme villain from a height’.
“Very dodgy Super-Suit basically made out of scrap parts” would be quite a good running joke. Alternately, it could be used to establish just how good Mark is at repurposing stuff and bringing his ideas to life.
In the movies as well. Thus Stane’s quip in the first one (to a disappointing underling about how Stark built his arc reactor “in a cave! With a BOX OF SCRAPS!”
I fully endorse this idea. I can already imagine Jan and Jackie’s reactions, especially if he casually greets them as “Honey” and “baby girl” or some such because they wouldn’t manage to recognize him until then because apparently Mark is the only person in this universe who can recognize his own family members behind a domino mask. I’m envisioning *his* super suit to include a helmet that completely conceals his entire face.

What’s more, he seems to be supportive.

The next scene,Miss Melee on her cycle, saying to herself very disgruntled like; “I’m gonna have some words with that girl!!!”
Proud of the heros.
Yup. He knows. And he’s proud of both of them.
I’m guessing that Miss Melee using the same pet phrases for him that Jan always uses was a bit of a give-away!

I was thinking something like that, too.
Although how good a suit could he afford to build?

Thinking further about this, I remember that (at least in the comics) Iron Man‘s firs suit was basically built from scrap, so…
Which kind of led to the running gag through the film of; “Yeah, I can fly.”; usually followed by something in the mild catastrophe vein.

He knows, but they don’t know he knows…
Gonna be some BIG suirprises when MM tells Jackie, and Mark lets both of them know he knows!
It just makes sense, this sort of thing would be practically impossible to hide from a spouse.
“I do the laundry occasionally, you know!”
“So?”
“You have put your super-suit in the boil wash more than once.”
“Oh.”
ROFL
^_^
So glad to see hubby support his ladies! So glad to see that he TRULY KNOWS!!
He still makes me think that he use to be a super villian which would be pretty funny that she married her arch nemesis.
What a good husband <3
