Now we just have to wait until the girls finally figure out that Mark knows everything. Or he finally gets tired of their obliviousness and tells them 😉
Whilst there’s a lot to be said about the ‘tearing off the band aid in one move’ strategy, something tells me that Jan is going to have to give Jackie a lot more detailed an explanation than this!
Prediction for Issue 11. Kid Melee and Evil Lass one-on-one episode because both think they have something to prove to their mothers about their competence and independence
I’m predicting that Jackie is suddenly going to be not okay with MM going out crime-fighting. It’s one thing to see a masked hero go out and risk her life, it’s something else to see your own mother (or any family member) in danger.
I’m just hoping we don’t have the typical “You lied to me” nonsense. It’s a bit overused as a trope, and I’d like to see a different approach here.
Problems and hijinks ensue, sure, but maybe stray away from the obvious retort.
The truth is finally out!
Had to happen eventually.

Maybe Jackie will be disillusioned and give up being Kid Melee?
I doubt it. If anything, this will make her more excited in the long run. Now fighting crime runs in the family.

Kid Melee is a little slow
Yeah, I was hoping she’d put it together more quickly.

*gets home, tells husband*
Husband: Ya, I know.
More like:
*Gets home, Husband is asleep*
So next issue, Dad lets the girls know that he is in the know?
Dun Dun Duuuuuun!
The expression in the last panel is priceless. A teenager whose mind has just gone glurk!
Mom!?! Why are you pretending to be Miss Melee?
After that escape, I don’t even think KM’s teenager-given aura of denial would come to that conclusion.
Whew!
I was afraid she was going to try to slide out of it again, and I think we’d about reached the limit to which the dynamic tension would stretch.
