They are real heroes, just not in this universe. We like to put Easter egg cameos into some of Jackie’s posters. The first reader to get both of them right wins a shiny No-Prize!
At a guess, I’d say she’s trying to make up for her relative lack of martial arts expertise with tech. Jackie may be a bit overenthusiastic, but it would appear she’s being smart about it.
Oh good, everything’s completely back to normal, guess that’s the end of this plotline, nothing can possibly go wrong, this is gonna be the best Christmas Walford’s ever had…
Superheroes must really have trouble tracking criminals in this universe…
They only need to put on glasses or a hat in the middle of a fight to become bystanders…
OMG HOW CAN YOU BE A SUPERHERO WHO HIDES STUFF FROM HER OWN FAMILY YET BE JUST AS BLIND AS THE REST!!! HOW IS EVERYONE SO OBLIVIOUS?! I DO NOT UNDERSTAND OMG!!!
It’s gotta be a transport of some kind…
AND HOW DO YOU NOT NOTICE SHE IS WEARING THE HATTHING AND GOGGLES SHE WAS WEARING EARLY AND NOT THINK ANYTHING OF IT!!!
The fact that even the most flimsy disguises are impenetrable is a sacred cow of the Superheroic genre. Even the tiniest domino mask is sufficient to protect your identity. It isn’t self delusion or airheadedness, its just a genre trope.
Really?
the blinders on these characters oy vey
I wonder if those non-Miss Melee posters in Jackie’s room are also of real heroes in the setting…

I’m pretty sure moose head guy is Laser Pony from League of Super Redundant heroes, no clue on bee/wasp girl
That’s Sat’s Signal Bee.
Correct! That is Signal Bee by Satellite 9! The other cameo is very obscure, and has not been guessed correctly yet.
As parent, you do A LOT of worrying. So when everything gets back to normal, you kickback and go to deep relax.
Ohhh… Gullible parents! lol

From the little we can see, I would say that she is working on a personal transportation device…
Sidekickmobile ?
Captain, gullibility is reaching untold levels!
We’re reaching critical mass!

Oh my, looks like Jackie comes by her streak of gullibility honestly.

Either that or she inherited the ability from her mother to sap the intelligence of others at close range.

…because she’s openly re-purposed them as protective wear while… saudering(?) rather than hiding them away for use as a disguise?
soldering
is it possible to facepalm and headdesk at the same time?
@andrew Yes, it is possible, but you’ll break your fingers.
There’s an in universe explanation for self-delusion, I’m guessing.
I really hope so. I can buy the husband being too airheaded to make the connection but this is pushing it

Honestly, it is pushed too far here, way beyond the limits for credibility.
Well at least she knows who the sidekick wannabe is but I think if the young girl hadn’t told her she’d still be oblivious.
She just doesn’t want to acknowledge that her daughter has a stubborn streak and isn’t going to be dissuaded from the sidekick idea.
Janice, Queen of de Nile
It’s an inherited position.
In this world, gullibility is an art form.
