I was going to say something about Mark building her bike, so he would almost have to know. But then I remembered that was a character in Appleseed (by Masamune Shirow). So wrong comic and about 25 years late…
Dementia, here I come! And I wish I was joking about it.
no, you’re right! he did build her bike, that’s how they met. she came back later, out of costume, to ask him out. she thought he didn’t recognize her, but he cleary knows
I have to wonder if her husband during the old times was he a Miss Melee Arch Nemesis It would be pretty funny if she married someone who had an alternate ego who was one of her major enemies.
I hope we do encounter some of her old enemies I mean the new Villains or the ones in the more modern age are interesting but it would be interesting to show a resurgence of the old school ones who despite not being as modern could be much more formidable than the new ones due to their experience as well as They are more familiar with Miss Melee.
Atomic Laundromat has that as a premise. In fact, the main character is the only non-powered child of said coupling. He runs a laundromat specifically catered to the superpowered and either their allies or minions. He doesn’t care which.
I have to wonder if you might have a point here. Look at Mark’s character art and you can’t help but notice that he has the angular and jagged lines that you would normally expect from an antagonist character.
That and some of his angles of drawing are similar to what you would see of some Major Super Villain in the background. I keep wondering if he has a Supervillian Lair in his Autoshop.
…he’s known the whole time, hasn’t he? ever since the name slip-up. and it’s not like he hasn’t had all the evidence he needs, he’s just finally made the connections.
When she finds out that he knows…
“How long have you known?”
“Remember when I built your bike for you?”
“Yeah… So?”
“‘You signed your real name on the title!”
Why do I have the suspicion that Jackie has at the very least managed to impress Rini with her determination? Managing to keep up would be a plausible stretch, though, and I wouldn’t rule out more incredible levels of success.
Hopefully Jackie is going home exhausted and sore and not bruised from head to toe. Of course this page sets us up for the subversion of expectations as well. Wherein Jack is a natural and she is still going strong after all this time alone with Rimi much to the shock of her mother.
Oh, he knows.
He knooows.
Definitely: he knows! The family that trains together, stays together!
Rimi? Take it easy?
Surely you jest…
Either way, one of them is an idiot here. Mark for not realising who Jan is, or Jan for not realising Mark knows who she is.
Pretty sure it’s the latter. Just look at that shit-eating grin on Mark’s face, goin’, “Yep, knew this would happen eventually.”

I think she knows he knows who she is. I think she doesnโt know he knows their daughter is training.
If Rimi’s “training” is that intense, maybe Jackie would take the Deadpool route?!?

True! So sad this webcomic is on hiatus for so long ๐

“Heh. I guess dad convinced Jan to train Jackie…”
I was think he could be an old rival.

Probably from day one. ๐
Could be.

“How long have you known?”

Calling it now: Jackie is out cold and Rini is using her as a footrest whilst she watches the big screen TV, catching up on the big game scores.
Why do I have the suspicion that Jackie has at the very least managed to impress Rini with her determination? Managing to keep up would be a plausible stretch, though, and I wouldn’t rule out more incredible levels of success.
He totally knows!
Is that really Mark? Notice that we never see his whole face. Could it be a villain arranging to capture Jan by using her family?
And he’s wearing his cloths to fool the people not around?
I always suspected he knew. You don’t live with someone for that long and NOT pick up on the clues.

Heh this will be NIFTY!!!!!
And to deal with the other family member — with this foreshadowing, how many of you suspect she will be flourishing?
I do. for sure.
